Clash of The Titans: Sherlock vs. Elementary

I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since childhood.   Whether reading the original stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle or watching a Holmes film on television, I was enthralled by the deductive abilities of Sherlock.  No super power or magic was required by this hero to perform his amazing feats, just the ability to notice the minutiae and make accurate deductions from them.

Out and About in Century City: GLA ALA Justice Jog

On September 15, 2013, the annual Justice Jog 5K Run/Walk was held in Century City.  The Justice Jog was hosted and produced by the Greater Los Angles Association of Legal Administrators and the net proceeds of the event benefited CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for children) of Los Angeles. 574 participants completed the Run/Walk and raised more than $50,000 to support the programs of CASA of Los Angeles.  Sixty-seven teams participated, including 35 law firm teams.  The first place law firm team was Blank Rome LLP, Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell LLP came in second, and third place went to Elkins Kalt Weintraub Reuben Gartside LLP.  The CCBA congratulates all of the participants.

Distinguished Speakers Luncheon Featuring Sherman Ellison


On July 11, 2013, Sherman Ellison, one of California's preeminent authorities on traffic defense, spoke to us on the topic of Traffic Ticket Magic - Making Your Tickets Disappear (Legally). Ellison shared valuable traffic ticket tips with us while attendees enjoyed lunch at Lawry's Prime rib in Beverly Hills and earned one unit worth of CLE credit.

Annual Constitutional Law Luncheon with Dean Erwin Chemerinsky



On August 15, 2013, we welcomed back Dean Erwin Chemerinsky to our annual Constitutional Law Luncheon at Lawry’s Prime Rib. A roomful of lawyers came to hear the founding Dean of the UC Irvine School of Law summarize the major US Supreme Court decisions of the most recent term.
