Speakers:

Jan Frankel Schau, J.D.,
is a Mediator with ADR Services since 2007. Ms. Schau began her career in insurance defense in 1981 and transitioned to Plaintiff-side employment law and business litigation in 1995. Since 2000, she has successfully mediated over 1500 civil cases. Ms. Schau holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Pomona College in Claremont, California and a J.D. from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles.  She is the author of the blog, Schau Mediation.







Starting her career at JAMS in 1987, Amy Newman is the President of ARC, which has been her home away from home since 1991. She has extensive experience marketing retired judges, justices and attorney neutrals. A featured speaker and member of prominent ADR committees, in 2015 Amy was appointed to the USC Gould School of Law ADR Advisory Committee.












Gary C. Ottoson, J.D., is a Mediator, Arbitrator, and a Discovery Referee at ARC, with more than 40 years of litigation experience, including nearly 100 jury trials in general jurisdiction and numerous bench trials. He has handled a variety of high profile, multi-party cases with a primary focus on environmental disputes, toxic torts and complex or catastrophic personal injury cases. He also has expertise in resolving professional liability and real estate matters. Mr. Ottoson has served as a pro bono settlement officer for Los Angeles County courts for the past three decades.

Lori L. Werderich, J.D., is a Litigation Attorney at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger LLP and represents plaintiffs and defendants in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts nationwide. Lori is on the Board of Governors of the Century City Bar Association where she serves as Treasurer.










Steven R. Sauer, J.D., is a professional neutral, providing his arbitrator and mediator services through the Large Complex Case Panel of the American Arbitration Association, the United States District Court for the Central District and the California Court of Appeals Second Judicial District. Steven has served for the past 19 years on the Board of Governors of the Century City Bar Association.
